The fiberglass is created by forcing molten glass through a seive and spinning it into threads. Since the fiberglass is a liquid when used, it flows into and reflects all the fine details of the mold.

Fiberglass is an ideal material for large sculptures because it is light yet durable. The figures may be moved by hand while the fiberglass provides a reinforced frame, which when used to make boats, can withstand the shock and elements of the sea without breaking.
